Ficus Microcarpa
The Laurel Fig or Ficus Microcarpa has numerous slender twigs with dark green, glossy, lanceolate leaves, thickened stems at the base and very original, twisted and fissured aerial roots. The thickened shoots and aerial roots are covered with brown bark, which cracks over time and gives the plants the character of aged, mature specimens. This makes the blunt tipped ficus look very impressive and can successfully compete with typical bonsai trees.

care tips
The Ficus Microcarpa is sensitive to drafts and adjustments. The substrate for the Ficus should be loose and aerated, with coconut chips and perlite for example. Let the substrate dry out a little between waterings, but not completely. When you notice yellowing and drooping leaves on the plant, it may be a sign that the substrate is too wet or too dry, or you may have the wrong amount of light.
