I'm the Bird of paradise plant, but I'm also known as the Strelitzia or Crane flower. I'm an attractive plant and I'm very fashionable. I come from far away, to be more precise, from South Africa. I'm known for the deep orange and dark blue color of my flowers.
Do you know why I'm called the bird of paradise? My flowers open in the shape of a hand fan (abanico), very similar to the shape of a bird. I reproduce myself from seeds or cuttings and I usually flower several times a year.

FlorEspaña picked me at a nursery called Persoon Potplanten in The Netherlands. You will find me ready for shipping! I'm perfectly fit and 75 centimetres tall. In nature I can grow up to ten meters high.

care tips
Thriving in bright light, Strelitzias can tolerate full sun with gradual acclimation, and in winter, enjoy them in the sunniest window with supplemental artificial light.
When it grows outdoors it needs to be in areas where the temperature does not fall below 5ºC. For the temperature to flourish it must be above 12ºC. Once they are settled, they can survive with a shortage of water, especially during the winter, although in summer it will be necessary to provide them with water regularly and in depth. We recommend to remove the yellowish or brown leaves and cut the flower when it's passed.
