Festuca Glauca Blue is a densely caespitose plant, with a very thin waxy coating (pruina) on the leaves, which gives it a glaucous appearance. Inflorescence about 5 cm long, silvery in appearance, with glabrous or hairy spikes. The central part of each bush can dry out after two to four years, especially if the summers have been very dry, but is easily renewed by mowing.
