aroid potting soil
This aroid potting soil is specially formulated for Aroids: Monstera, Philodendron, Pothos, and Aglaonema. The mix contains worm castings, which promote microbial life in the soil. Additionally, worm castings have a high nutrient content that is released slowly, meaning your plant is unlikely to suffer from burning. This mixture allows larger roots to access the oxygen they need to grow healthily, thanks to the higher proportion of perlite and coconut husk. Coconut fibre is an excellent sustainable base, as it does not compact and retains water for longer without becoming overly soggy. This way, you can space out your watering. The coconut fibre-based mix does not contain peat and is composed solely of organic nutrients.

use and application
Using the mix is straightforward! Begin by removing as much of the old soil as you can. Gently squeeze the pot while tilting it to help loosen the plant. Rinse the roots under lukewarm tap water to wash away any remaining bits of soil.
Additionally, be sure to snip off any dead leaves that may still be attached to the plant using scissors. Your plant will now be ready for its new aroid soil. Start by adding a thin layer of aroid mix at the bottom of the pot.
Position the plant in the pot and gradually fill the sides with this soil. Ensure that the area where the roots connect to the plant is just below the surface of the substrate mix.
Gently press the potting soil mix down into the pot. After repotting, it's essential to water the mix thoroughly, as this will help settle both the mix and the roots.
