buy gold palm
The stylish Areca palm or gold palm originates from the island of Madagascar. There an endangered plant, but fortunately on the Caribbean islands they are still a lot. In full sun the leaves turn yellow and because the flowers of this areca are also yellow, that's why it's also called the Gold palm. The Areca is not that easy, but a very popular indoor plant.
Did you know? In nature this plant grows about 10 meters high. Under the right conditions this palm can grow up to your ceiling.
dimensions and properties
We found this 90 centimetres high Areca in a Dutch and eco nursery: 'Fondieplant' very close to the capital, Amsterdam.
We offer the option of placing the Areca (it will be transplanted) in an ELHO design pot (made from recycled plastic) or a taupe terracotta pot. The color of the plant is: green leaves and green stems, more yellow and brown under next to the soil.
care tips
This houseplant doesn't tolerate direct sunlight for a long time. However, the palm does like a lot of filtered light. For this reason, the palm is best placed in front of a north- or east-facing window.
The Areca palm doesn't like to grow with strongly fluctuating temperatures. Give the palm lukewarm water during spring and summer, preferably 2 to 3 times a week and once a week during winter, but then with lukewarm cold water. If the soil dries out completely or you leave it always too wet, the plant will lose its leaves.
health
The areca is one of the most commonly purchased air-purifying plants. This is because this plant is good at removing harmful substances. These substances occur in almost every home and office. That is why the areca palm is an asset.
