kangaroo foot fern
The Microsorum Diversifolium plant owes its comon name, Kangaroo foot fern to the fact that it is eaten by the kangaroos, and in fact it also looks like a kangaroo foot. It grows in the wild in the outbacks of Australia and New Zealand.
This specific fern grows on a volcanic lava rock. The roots are anchored in the same rock for nutrition and in search of water. This is what makes this Diversifolium so special. With the lava rock it is a very elegant and decorative piece for your home.

care tips
This plant grows relatively fast and, with good care, gets a lot of sprouts on which the new leaves grow. The plant can be anywhere in the house, but make sure it is not in full sun. It is better that the minimum temperature is not below 15°C and not more than 30°C. The remaining volcanic lava rock absorbs the water from the container and so the water reaches the roots of the fern. Fill the container up to 2/3 and make sure that there is always a layer of water in it.
During the first two years it's not necessary to fertilise the plant, because the plant gets its nutrition from the stone itself. If the tap water in your municipality contains a lot of lime, the lava stone can turn white, so preferably give the plant rainwater or mineral water.
