care tips eco system in a jar
In order for the plants within your terrarium to thrive, they require sunlight for photosynthesis to occur. Consequently, it's advisable to position the jar in rooms with north- or west-facing windows, where the sun's rays are not excessively strong.
Temperature fluctuations can have a detrimental impact on the functioning of the 'mini glass ecosystem', which is why it is best avoided in areas such as the kitchen, bathroom and near radiators.
Water your terrarium plants immediately after planting, either by gently spraying the interior of the container or by applying water directly to the soil using a long pipette. Water your mini-ecosystem sparingly, taking into account that the water will not drain away, but will instead condense on the walls of the container. Only soft water is suitable for watering the ecosystem, i.e. filtered or boiled and cooled water.
The optimal watering frequency for your mini forest terrarium is up to three times a year. This largely depends on the type of plants you have included and the humidity level within the container. We water the composition in the jar when the soil is extremely dry and there are no signs of evaporation within the glass.
